Preston only became a city in 2002, and much of its housing was laid out while it was still a cotton town. The terraces off New Hall Lane and through Deepdale, Avenham and Ashton-on-Ribble are largely Victorian and Edwardian, and housing of that age often still has a rewireable fuse board, no earth at the lighting points and no main bonding to the incoming gas and water. That is rewire, consumer unit and EICR territory, and we cover all three.

The centre is a different job. Winckley Square, laid out from 1801 and lined with listed Georgian townhouses, spent years as the city's professional quarter and is now being converted back to flats and offices; Fishergate and Friargate carry the retail; Riversway occupies the dock that opened in 1892 and closed in 1981. Conversions and retail units need inspection and testing, emergency lighting and full shop fitting packages.

Out at Red Scar on Longridge Road, half a mile from junction 31A of the M6, we offer planned and reactive commercial maintenance, three phase distribution, machinery supplies and fixed wire testing.
