The town bridge over the River Yarrow at Croston is dated 1682, carries a three-tonne weight limit and is protected as a scheduled monument. Church Street beside it is often called one of the best-preserved rows of seventeenth-century cottages in Lancashire, and much of the old village sits inside a conservation area. Buildings of that age rarely have a tidy electrical history: solid walls, low ceilings and circuits extended piecemeal over decades. We take on rewires, consumer unit upgrades, EICRs and fault finding in period property and barn conversions, keeping chases and cable routes sympathetic to the building.

Past the village it is mossland and arable farming, and agricultural buildings bring their own requirements: supplies out to barns and outbuildings, three-phase where machinery or cold storage calls for it, and RCD protection anywhere damp or outdoors.

Water matters here as well. The Boxing Day 2015 flood reached hundreds of properties in the village, and the upstream flood storage basin opened in 2017. Anything that has had water through it wants the consumer unit and the low-level circuits tested properly rather than simply dried out. We are based in Leyland, a few miles north-east.
