Euxton runs along the A49, which follows the line of a Roman road, from Pincock, where the first settlement grew up by the ford over the River Yarrow, north towards Buckshaw. The parish still takes in working farmland: at Shaw Green there are listed farmhouses dated 1703 and 1705. Between the old core and the fields sit the Talbot and Greenside estates from the late 1960s, and the new homes off Euxton Lane.
